The Atlanta North Local Census Office aims to make sure that everyone in North Fulton County is accounted for so that the proper allotment of federal funds will be directed towards local communities. Census Day is April 1, 2010 and therefore we will be looking to receive back the simple and safe 10 question forms from all of the constituents across our areas of coverage. Our largest operation, Non-Response Follow-up (NRFU), occurs starting in May and lasts through July. This is the point in the process when we will follow-up with phone calls and visits to people who did not respond to the mailing.
We are simply requesting full cooperation from local Community Leaders and Organizations in encouraging your citizens to participate in the process. Our being able to collect the correct data helps determine allocation of federal funds needed to improve the community, schools, roads, homeless services, employment services and much more. It also helps determine how much representation the state will get in allocation of Congressional Districts.
We hope you find it appropriate to add these dates to your calendar:
April 1, 2010: Census Day (Constituents fill out and mail back forms)
May 1, 2010 - end of July: Non-Response Follow-up Operations (Census workers will be calling and visiting members of the community who did not mail back their forms).
